dc.description.abstractThis paper presents an efficient lossy media implementation using the improved hybrid implicit-explicit finite-difference time-domain (HIE-FDTD) method. Various schemes, including a forward-backward scheme, are formulated for the proposed implementation. The efficiency of formulated schemes are validated through numerical results and compared to the efficient alternating-direction-implicit (ADI)-FDTD and the conventional FDTD methods. © 2022 IEEE.en_US
